Land Use and Land Cover Change Effects on the Value of Ecosystem Services in the Konqi River Basin, China, under Ecological Water Conveyance Conditions

Basin ecosystems are vulnerable to natural resource depletion, ecological damage, and environmental pollution due their fragile environment. Assessing the value of basin ecosystem services (ES) can facilitate informed decision making by policy makers stakeholders in context competing use. The Konqi River China, an arid inland river basin, has suffered from degraded overexploitation soil water resources. In response, local government launched conveyance (EWC) project 2016 enhance restoration efforts. This paper analyzes evaluates ES based on land use cover (LULC) change characteristics before after EWC 2013 2020, respectively. Remote sensing data related socioeconomic statistics used assess a typical three unique locations Basin, divided into upper lower reaches. results show that cropland unused most important types service (ESV) changes study area consistent with structure changes. total ESV shows decreasing trend reaches while increasing trend. increases Basin.
